Our kids have amazing adventures, with safety being our top priority. As mothers ourselves it’s instinctual and only natural for us to protect and nurture our youth participants. We provide a safe and comfortable environment where they can feel confident about themselves as well as their leaders. Our interaction with the children is on a level basis, we’re never above them, we’re always right there beside them. We’re like big sisters who like to be silly and have fun, but Mother Bears when safety is of concern.
Participants in our youth adventures gain skills that will last a life time. They’ll obtain skills in paddling and hiking, wilderness survival, species identification, fire making, primitive tools, wilderness signs and so forth. Most importantly however, they’ll develop skills that will enhance their lives forever. Our trips influence people to build confidence in self and in others, respect for self and in others, including “wild” things. Participants discover self worth and the value of friends and the connectivity of a community. They learn the power of diligence through the reward of achievement. These are words we all know the meaning of, but to truly understand is to feel the empowerment from the experiences. |

This is our opportunity to bring women back to where they came from, to reawaken their natural skills and intuitions. Women are free to discover themselves as part of the natural world in a comfortable environment free from intimidation and discrimination. They can discover their own strengths and abilities while navigating the enchanting wilderness of Maine.
